DESCRIPTION
Following the triumphant victory over the neighboring Igala kingdom and by extension, the ominous bird of prophecy, the Igun Eronmwon (Benin bronze casters guild) were commissioned to create plaques and idiophones of the bird of prophecy to commemorate the victorious event. Iy’Oba Idia holds a brass plaque believed to depict her son(Oba Esigie) and his retainer’s triumphant return from the Igala war.

Variant 2 (Large): 27in X 38in (68.58cm X 96.52cm) —> Limited edition of 10 with 1 Artist’s proof.

All prints come with a 1 inch (2.54cm) white boarder around the image.
