DESCRIPTION
Oba Ozolua the conqueror (1483 - 1504) was the 2nd of 5 revered Benin warrior kings. As a skillful warrior and tactician, he played a significant role in the military expansion of the Benin kingdom and is believed to have won no less than 200 battles which earned him the appellation Ozolua n’Ibaromi (Ozolua the conqueror). He is remembered on a number of Benin plaques as well as wood and ivory carvings.
